Princes Laurentien participates in Nationale Voorleesontbijt (National Read To Breakfast)

From Wednesday 23rd January until Saturday 2nd February, the National Read to Days will take place, with as national kick off the National Read to Breakfast on Wednesday 23rd January. The Read To days are an initiative of the Stichting Lezen (Reading Foundation), organised by Stichting CPNB. Goal of the campaign is to stimulate reading to children who cannot read themselves yet.

Picture book of the year
A jury of Dutch youth librarians selected a total of ten books from the complete offer of picture books as published in 2006. These 10 selected titles will be the centre of attention during the National Read to Days. From the selected picture books, the book Kleine Muis zoekt een huis (Little Mouse looks for a House) was elected Picture Book of the year. It is a story about a Little Mouse who finds an apple which does not fit in her small house. So what should Little Mouse do? She starts to look for a new mouse’s house!!

National Read To Breakfast
Her Royal Highness Princes Laurentien of the Netherlands will participate on Wednesday morning 23rd January in the public library Reigersbos in Amsterdam in the fifth edition of the National Read To Breakfast. The Princes will read from the Picture book of the year 2008.
