Vice-Chair – Dr. Alexander H.G. Rinnooy Kan
Alexander Rinnooy Kan graduated from Leiden University in 1972 (MA Mathematics) and received his BA in Econometrics at Amsterdam University in the same year. In 1976 he received his Ph.D in Mathematics at Amsterdam University. Following that, he worked with the Erasmus University Rotterdam amongst others as Rector Magnificus from 1986 till 1989. From 1991 until 1996 he was Chairman of the Confederation of Dutch Industry (VNO-NCW). In 1996 he became member of the Board of ING Group, a function he held until June 2006. As from August 2006 Alexander Rinnooy Kan was named Crown member and chairman of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER).
