Erik van Beek (1982) works as theme manager for the Foundation Reading & Writing since the 1st of May 2010. He manages projects aimed at developing literacy skills in children and young people.
Before joining the foundation, Erik worked for the directorate Learning & Working, a project of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. In this job he worked as executive secretary and projectleader Information Technology. Erik started as a counselor on the subject Recognition of Prior Learning and Career Guidance.
Erik volunteers within Scouting on regional, national and European level as an expert in human resources and careerdevelopment.
In the past Erik has been a primary school teacher in Utrecht and a researcher for European projects aimed at lifelong learning. Erik has a Master of Science for Educational Sciences.
