Vice-Chair – Dr Hermann H.F. Wijffels
Hermann Wijffels studied Economics at the Catholic College of Higher Education in Tilburg. He started his career at the then Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries before becoming General Secretary of the Dutch Christian Federation of Employers (Nederlands Christelijk Werkgeversverbond). From 1981 – 1999 he worked for Rabobank Nederland, from 1986 as CEO. Since 1999 he has been Chairman of the Dutch Social and Economic Council (SER), a position from which he will be stepping down in the spring of 2006. He holds various additional functions (including at the Dutch Society for the Preservation of Nature (Natuurmonumenten), the Foundation Board of Tilburg University, the Rijksmuseum, Utrecht University Medical Centre and the PGGM Investment Committee) and performs a number of supervisory roles. Hermann is a member of the Innovation Platform.
